JOB VACANCIES

We are currently looking for permanent Care Assistants particularly for evenings and weekends and also for some weekday work as well.  Experience is not necessary as full training and support is given at all times.  Your own car is essential.  An enhanced CRB would be completed for any new care assistant.

We are also looking for experienced carers for bank work (holiday and sickness cover) both weekday and weekends.  Your own car is essential.  An enhanced CRB would be completed for any new care assistant.

SAFEGUARDING CHECKS AND REFERENCES

You will be required, at interview, to provide the details of two people we can request references from, one of which should be a previous / recent employer.  We cannot accept references from family members.  The second reference should be someone that knows you on a personal level, preferably a professional person.  There is a designated section for these details on our application form.

Any new member of staff would need to undertake an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Services (Criminal Records Bureau check).

INDUCTION TRAINING (IN HOUSE)

In House induction training comprises:
Moving and Handling
Medication
SOVA (Safeguarding of vulnerable adults)
Infection Control
Dementia awareness
Fire Safety
Food Hygiene
Health and Safety
Hydration and Nutrition
Pressure Ulcer awareness
End of life (Palliative)
Catheter care
Confidentiality
Emergency Procedures
First Aid (usually completed during the probationary period)
Recording and reporting

We have two moving and handling trainers and a qualified teacher/trainer and an allocated training room with equipment for the moving and handling training.

Shadow training follows the Induction training week.  This is where you attend the care calls you will be taking on permanently with an experienced carer or supervisor.  The amount of shadow training required will vary person to person, but we always ensure you are confident and happy before you start and will liaise with you during your training.

We feel it is very important for staff to feel supported, confident and happy in their job roles and so the office, supervisors and management strive to fulfill and promote this at all times.
